Nduro Events is a proudly local, family-run business that has grown to include nine full-time staff and a committed team of volunteers, all working together to deliver mountain biking and running events of the highest standard.
Owners, Tim and Belinda Farmer, are both keen mountain bikers. Originally from Tauranga, they spent a period in Auckland before relocating to Rotorua in 2013, drawn by Whakarewarewa Forest’s extensive mountain‑bike trails, geothermal landscape and nearby lakes.
Soon after, they purchased and relaunched the Nduro Events company. From humble beginnings, the company has evolved to become New Zealand’s leading endurance mountain biking and running event specialist, staging an extensive portfolio of events in the North and South Islands.

Their flagship event remains the Whaka 100, widely regarded as the toughest mountain bike race in the Southern Hemisphere. Over time, it has evolved into a multi-day festival that offers something for every mountain biking enthusiast, from the gruelling 160 km Miler to the fun 5 km Kids Ride.
NDURO events draw thousands of biking, running, and walking devotees, both local and international, to the region each year and have played a key role in reestablishing Rotorua as a top destination for tourists seeking unforgettable adventures and world-class hospitality.
Reliable communication is crucial to ensuring an event runs safely, smoothly, and enjoyably for all involved. Alcom is proud to have supplied Tim and Belinda with communications from the very beginning. As the events have expanded in both size and complexity, the demand for more radios and channels has grown and evolved. Over the years, we have upgraded our rental radios to Tait TP9300 portables and have transitioned to the Alcom Connect digital network, which offers superior coverage and performance throughout the Whakarewarewa Forest and Rotorua area.
